Cooperation with the Hungarian Donors Forum
With the cooperation of the Zala Villages Association and the Nagykanizsa Civil Round Table, at the last Civil Meeting of the year we met with representatives of several small towns in Zala and dicussed about opportunities to develop and mobilize communities in the small villages.
The purpose of the forums - similar to the ones organized in the spring - was to build relationships, networking, brainstorming and inspiration. An opportunity for small and large local civil groups to meet personally and informally, as well as with organizations of national scope from Budapest.
At the civil evening in Székesfehérvár guests coming from far away brought their (success) stories - examples and good practices in national-level (civic) issues were presented.
In 2018 Ökotárs hosted its Polish, Czech, Slovak, Romanian and Bulgarian sister foundations, members of the Environmental Partnership Association and their most important partners.
In partnership with our Czech sister organization, Nadace Partnerství, we have received a grant from the EU LIFE program for a joint project which aims at reducing the impact of urban heat islands.
The 2017 edition of the CSO Sustainability Index of Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia was published by the United States International Development Office, USAID. The report is prepared in cooperation with local experts and organizations each year. In compiling the chapter on Hungary the Ökotárs Foundation was the partner of USAID again.
