It doesn’t go without NGOs - the Hungarian society needs the civil society organizations

2017.04.26. 17:12

Heroes' Square: Civil Heart - We’re Here to Stay to Make it Possible for Others to StayToo

2017.04.12. 00:00
"The bill submitted to the parliament is misleading, disingenuous and hypocritical. It is misleading because civic organizations are already a hundred times more transparent than any government procurement process. It is disingenuous because it serves only one purpose: to stigmatize and expel organizations that dare raise their voices and who do not accept the fact that things are going in the wrong direction. And it is hypocritical: the state receives support from abroad too, without which we would already be in bankruptcy." - the director of Ökotárs also spoke at the demonstration of tens of thousands protesting against the law on "foreign-funded organizations".

Joint Resolution - Hundreds of Organizations Responding to the Campaign Against CSOs

2017.03.17. 00:00
The current Hungarian regulation of the civil sector provides an adequate framework and sufficient guarantees that CSOs can do their job legally, transparently and accountably - stated the nearly 300 CSOs signing a joint resolution. The initiating organizations working in different areas, the members of the Civilization campaign, have unanimously rejected the government's restrictive and stigmatizing ambitions as CSOs deal with issues that others, including the state, do not pay enough attention to, and therefore deserve support rather than attacks from the government.
